Economics Society at the University of Houston First General Body Meeting
Hello all, I hope you enjoyed ESUH’s first event for this semester!
If you were unable to attend, that’s okay! Here is the meeting recapped.
We kicked off introducing all our officers, all of whom can be found on the ‘Meet the Team’ tab on this website. All our officers shared their names, positions, the semester they graduate, and a fun fact about themselves. It was a good range of fun facts, from someone speaking three languages-and learning two-to someone even being married.

The meeting went on with our president–Zoe Hancock-introducing the organization, what we do, how we help, and ways you can get involved. A brief overview of our mission statement, the professional events we’re having, and the socials and group activities we are hosting this semester for both our members and non-members were shared.

After that, Zoe continued to detail how to get involved with ESUH. We are hosting more events this semester-the next being this Thursday! The 12th of February. She went on to say that we are looking for new officers! Since a lot of our team graduate this semester, we’ve introduced the new role of officer interns. People interested in officer intern positions can apply and shadow an officer for the rest of this semester, making their transition to the officer position smoother and easier. Lastly, she detailed the perks official members will have moving on.

After all that, it was time to mix around and have fun. People who came to the meeting mingled with the officers and each other, bonding over pizza, games, and that good ESUH energy!

Meeting notes: • Next meeting this Thursday at 5:30pm (2/12/2026). The Industry Insights Panel meeting will be taking place at T2 203. • Officer Intern Positions open (members preferred). • Membership costs $15 a semester and $25 a year. • Tutoring for members and non-members, but members get the extra mile when it comes to tutoring and academic support. • Looking forward to a great semester ahead!
